Check out the new promo for the audio drama “Beaten to a pulp” coming up on the Take Him With You Podcast this week.

Please let Amy and I know what you think!

Beaten to a Pulp- the audio drama coming April 5th and 12th

Beaten to a Pulp- the audio drama coming April 5th and 12th

Amy and I got to spend some more time today praying for our listeners, friends and church.  It was really cool.  We went and worked on the audio drama and talked about our future.  Then we went to the Star Wars Store where I bought two vintage LPs… check em out.

Yep. A vintage LP of Battlestar Galactica soundtrack with the Philharmonic Orchestra… YES!

The other LP was a Six Million Dollar man record with comic book.  COOL!

I don’t own a record player, but if I did I would have played it tonight.  I’ll look around for one that hooks up to my computer.  They make those now.

Then we went to the park, got out all the prayer requests and prayed over them.  It was way cool.  God met us there and it was nice.  There are so many people to pray for and so many folks to tell about the love of God.

I took some cool pictures at Ocean Palace today.  Check em out.

I wrote a very moving crucifixion song tonight.  I recorded it.  Got the idea for it while I was washing my hands.  I heard it in my head and then just got done creating it.  It’s heavy metal, but very different.  It’s in the drama, so you will have to listen to it.   I wrote a couple of others recently that will go in the drama as well.  Please pray for me as I get that finished. It’s a lot of work, but it is turning out far better than I had dreamed.  It’s a two parter, part one this weekend!  WOO HOO!

I have a big day of recording tomorrow, so I should get to sleep.  Bless you!

I play a song I wrote and recorded as tribute to the Battlestar Galactica made in the 70’s
you can download it and put it on your ipod or computer by clicking here: Rag Tag Fugitve Fleet

Rag Tag Fugitve Fleet
by Rick Moyer

When I was just a boy
I heard that ABC
Was serving up some drama
In space that I could see

T’was bout a Battle Star
But not your normal stanza
Starring Loren Green,
Cartwright from Bonanza

So these Shiny metal bots
With a mission like machines
Were killing all the colonists
With a budgets never seen

Every week I’d watch
As the ships would turbo up
And laugh at Boxy’s moffit
The barking robot pup

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

Those nasty little Cylons
Spouting by your command
Were killing all the humans
And taking all their land

They blew up all the Battle stars
With out a second thought
Only the Galactica
Would be the one they fought

So they forced the humans out
Into space they had to run
Putting all their ships together
Man that wasn’t fun

The characters all made me smile
Their wit and hero folly
Like Starbuck and Appollo
Cornel Tigh and good ol’ Jolly

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

Adama and Athena,
They were always there
Then Sheeba, and boomer
Cassiopeia so fare…

The Villians were so cool
With names like Lucifer
Boltar and his minions
And centurions for sure

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

I felt bad for Apollo
When Serena had to die
But later when the Pegasus
Sheeba caught his eye

Count Ebliee made me nervous
With his mental powers strong
But what about those chicks
With mouths that sang that song?

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

I thought it was over
When the bugs they set the tones
And when everyone was partying
They were eating honeycombs.

But our heroes made it out
Giving uniforms to greeters
Saving all their warriors
By faking all the leaders

The coolest part about the show
And they came from near and far
Were the raiders and the Vipers
Base Stations and Battle Stars

The viper was the coolest
With a talking one to boot
Cora loved on starbuck
As he wore his darkened suit

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

The episodes I really liked
That stand right out for me
were red eye, pig raiders
Starbucks Dad those three

Then the blowing up of base star
Was one I liked a lot
As they wobbled on their wings
Just so they would not get shot

Really all the episodes
Were right in with the vibe
Watching every week
For the 13th tribe.

Pyramids and Castles too
Fighting and the mirth
All the while searching for the new
Home they called the EARTH

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

There’s series that came after
Not the one with Katee
The silly episodes
Galactica 1980

It didn’t last so long
Troy and Dillan disappeared
After all it was really funny
To see Adama in a beard.

Then there is the new one
On sci fi that’s for sure
But Starbuck is a woman
And it’s full of gripping fear

The cylons had a makeover
The CGI just rocks
Some of them look human
We learned that in their talks

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

So crack open some mbrosia
And raise your glass real high
Cause Battlestar Galactica
Really caught my eye

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet
Yeah, the Rag Tag Fugitive Fleet

After the song I talk about the scenes I did and didn’t like in the series finale.

I then share a cool promo from my friend Meds from England. He has a podcast called Waffle on. You can listen to it here.

I then play a promo for next week’s episode of Take Him With You. It’s a science fiction audio drama with a twist of faith. Listen to the promo here.

This week it’s from Proverbs Chapter 23 (the Message Bible) vs 1-5

1-3 When you go out to dinner with an influential person, mind your manners:
Don’t gobble your food,
don’t talk with your mouth full.
And don’t stuff yourself;
bridle your appetite.

4-5 Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich;
restrain yourself!
Riches disappear in the blink of an eye;
wealth sprouts wings
and flies off into the wild blue yonder.

Amy and I invite you to join our mailing list and get our Weekly Encouragement Newsletter. Click here for more info. We could really use the help, and we are sure you could use the encouragement.

I then play a promo for the award winning webshow Guild podcast called KNIGHTS OF THE GUILD with my good friend and co-host of the Ready Room Podcast Kenny.

My wife Amy joins me for the podcast this episode. We talk all about how we met, I tell some stupid jokes, and we encourage everyone to wait for the person who is right for you!

Amy talks about growing up in Baleville in Raymond Washington. She grew up on a dairy farm and went to the 1st Baptist Church of Raymond. Her family grew up going to church and I didn’t.

She’s a little bit country, I’m a little bit rock n roll.

God has someone for each of us. AND we need to treat each other with love and respect.

We will share more in a couple of weeks of how we got married and what our first few years were like.

Visit our WordPress Blog- It’s fun.

Here are some pictures of Amy and I.

One of our engagement pictures- 24 years ago!

Here we are with Nathan on the 4th of July 1990. Yes, I know, I have Amy’s hair.

Thanks for listening!

Next week: All sorts of fun. Comments from my friend Meds in England and my friend Tim in Oregon. We also present part one of “Beaten to a Pulp” an audio science fiction drama with a twist of faith. You won’t want to miss one bit of it!

I’m not sure I ever enjoy being under the weather.  Being sick is just NO fun.  But Praise the Lord, I don’t have to lay in bed I can work on some stuff for the podcast.

So, our whole family needs to be healed from this yucky cold.  Nathan seems to be doing better.  But the rest of us are pretty miserable.

I have been working very hard to get the audio drama done for April 5th and 12th.  It’s a cool story and I think people will enjoy it.  I hope people share it with their friends and spread it around.

If you could, would you please be in prayer and stand in faith with Amy and I?  We are really asking God to bless our household with income.  The podcast is free, and then we have the newsletter that people subscribe too.  We are really hoping that many will sign up and give a little each month.  If everyone that listened could help out, it would be easy to pay the bills.  So far we have been very blessed to have people signing up and helping out.  But we need more.  So if you could pray for us, that would be great.  If we need to, we can go try and get some part time jobs to supplement the podcast and newsletter, but at this point it takes a lot of time and energy.  Whatever God’s will is I want it.

I do miss interacting with a live crowd though.  That is what God made me to do.  So not doing it in a church has been a little bit hard for me.  But God knows what he is doing.   I have to trust him.  I’m not sure what other job I would do.  I’ve been in some type of ministry for over 20 years.

Thanks for praying for us.  And if you haven’t listened to the podcast yet, you are in for a treat.  Amy joins me for the latest one.  It’s all about how we fell in love!  🙂

Here is a fun picture of us way back when… we were so young!  1995

Dad is home!

Posted: March 27, 2009 in Cool Stuff just for you

Thanks again for praying.  Dad is at home and resting, feeling much better.

A week of recovery time and he should feel much better!

Thanks again for the care and concern.  Dad said thank too!

phew. They took dad into surgery and unplugged three clogs from his artery. They put in three stints, so thanks for praying. It looks like he had no further damage to the heart. He can probably go home tomorrow.

Thanks so much for praying. I love my dad, he is really an amazing guy.

I wrote a song about him years ago. Take a listen.
