we’re back!

Posted: December 6, 2008 in Cool Stuff just for you

Well we made it back from our Restoring the Foundations Retreat in Yelm.

Amy and I were refreshed and very blessed by it.  We have a lot to talk about, and as it unfolds we will share.  Suffice it to say we were pleasently surprised during the first session when instead of doing what we thought we would, we ended up working on our marriage.  It was so good.  It was the first thing we did, and the last six days later.  In between we met individually with the couple ministering to us.  I would go in the morning and Amy would go in the afternoon.  We dealt with hurts, generational habits, thoughts that were opposed to God’s thoughts in our life, and our identity in Christ.   Then in the evening Amy and I would go out to dinner and talk.  We laughed a lot and we cried and we prayed.  It was fun to dream as a couple.   We got a lot of understanding into why we did and thought some of things we used to believe.  This whole thing is a process.  You know, no matter what you do in ministry, if you are married, your spouse will be with you.  So it makes sense doesn’t it?  to treasure them and help fulfill the dreams in their heart?  God put us together and we are partners in life.

We forgave each other for many things, and committed to doing things God’s way in our life, marriage and family.

All I know is that at the end of the AMAZING week of getting free from hurts and generational junk, we renewed our marriage vows and covenanted together to serve Jesus and to love others as a couple.

We are a blessed family, and Jesus is King of our lives.

We highly reccomend anyone to invest in this time of ministry.  It will be one of the best weeks of your life.  I know I am going to believe God for opportunities and money to help couples go through it for themselves.  We might even try to get these folks to come down for a three day seminar.  It is so refreshing and healing.

Here was our hotel room at the Prairie Hotel, the only one in Yelm.

Here are some great pictures from Yelm.  It sure is beautiful!

This was on the way to the couple’s home everyday.  Cool eh?

This is from the Wal-Mart Parking lot.  WOW, the Walmart is double our size.

The Sunsets were so beautiful!

I hope you enjoyed the photos.  I didn’t take too many, since we had other things to concentrate on!  God is good.
