WORDS OF WISDOM
Proverbs Chapter 8:1-11 (Message Bible)
FOOD FOR THOUGHT I talk a lot about how to keep our lives full of thankfulness. I did a cool poll on Facebook and Twitter- How do you stay thankful? I read a bunch of comments and comment myself.
PetraThankful Heart Lyrics:
Ephesians 5:20
Words by Bob Hartman and Dino Elefante Music by John Elefante
I have a thankful heart that you have given me
And it can only come from you
There is no way to begin to tell you how I feel
There are no words to express how you’ve become so real
Jesus, you’ve given me so much I can’t repay
I have no offering
There is no way to begin to tell you how I feel
There’s nothing more I can say and no way to repay
Your warming touch that melts my heart of stone
Your steadfast love – I’ll never be alone
I have a thankful heart that you have given me
And it can only come from you
I have a thankful heart; words don’t come easily
But I am sure you can see my thankful heart
Help me be a man of God
A man who’s after Your own heart
Help me show my gratitude
And keep in me a thankful heart
I read some emails from Jose and Spaltor.
I then pray for you, and ask for your support for Take Him With You. Please email me your comments, ideas and encouragment. rick@takehimwithyou.com

I play a cool song by a lady named Cindy Morgan, it’s called “How could I ask for more?”
you can get her music here: http://www.cindymorganmusic.com/new/
How could I ask for more?
There’s nothing like the warmth of a summer afternoon
Waking to the sunlight, and being cradled by the moon
Catching fireflies at night
Building castles in the sand
Kissing Mama’s face goodnight
Holding Daddy’s hand
Thank you Lord, how could I ask for more
Running barefoot through the grass
A little hide and go seek
Being so in love, that you can hardly eat Dancing in the dark, when there’s no one else around
Being bundled ‘neath the covers, watching snow
Fall to the ground
Thank you Lord, how could I ask for more
So many things I thought would bring me happiness
Some dreams that are realities today
Such an irony the things that mean the most to me
Are the memories that I’ve made along the way
So if there’s anything I’ve learned
From this journey I am on
Simple truths will keep you going
Simple love will keep you strong
Cause there are questions without answers
Flames that never die
Heartaches we go through are often blessings in disguise
So thank you Lord, oh thank you Lord
How could I ask for more
You can get that song on Itunes by searching for “How could I ask for more”
I assign homework: Make a list of things and people that you are thankful for.
I share a couple of stories about being thankful.
I also share some writings from the Bible on why we should be thankful.
Thank You by 33Miles What if in morning when I wake up
Even before I fill my coffee cup
I said thank You
Thank You
What if I look at the day and the hours ahead
And before I move forward I bowed my head
And said thank You
Oh I said thank You
What if I looked at my life in a different way
Took a little more time to stop and pray
I know it would change all the moments in between
So here I go
Thank You for everything
Thank You for loving me
It don?t even matter what tomorrow brings
Well I will sing my
Thank You for sun and rain
For what You give and take away
For all Your goodness I will always say
Thank You
Oh I’ll say thank You
What if I lost everything that I had
I could smile and somehow still be glad
And say thank You
Thank you
Cause life is joy, life is pain
But the prayer on my heart will never change
I say thank You
Oh I’ll say thank You

FOOD FOR THOUGHT-
Zombie Groans- What good does it do to complain?
I share my impromptu facebook and twitter poll– What do you complain about the most? I read the comments and talk about them.
Many people think that complaining is a cousin of worrying.
I talk about how good it is to go to counseling. It is very healthy for us to talk things out with someone who can help us figure things out.
It’s normal to complain, but we shouldn’t live in it.
I talk about this.
I share various scriptures on staying positive and looking at things from God’s perspective.
Phil 2
Matthew 6
I talk about Debbie Downer and Doug & Wendy Whiner.
Take a listen to the podcast for more great information on ways to stop complaining.
Going to God is a good thing. Seeing a counselor is also great in working out chronic complaints or issues.
It’s important to find the root cause of the complaining. Stress shortens our life.
We need to rely on God to take care of us.
#1 Go to God
#2 Be willing to change and do something
#3 Ask for grace to deal with things you can’t change.
I share the Serenity prayer:
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change
Courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference
Proverbs says, Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways aknowlege him and he will make your path straight.
Persue the path that brings peace.
Great stuff this week, take a listen.
Next week we start a brand new series called “A tank full of Thankful” if you want to share an email with me or an audio comment, please send them into me. rick@takehimwithyou.com

Words of Wisdom
1st Thessalonians Chapter 3 (Message)
1-2So when we couldn’t stand being separated from you any longer and could find no way to visit you ourselves, we stayed in Athens and sent Timothy to get you up and about, cheering you on so you wouldn’t be discouraged by these hard times. He’s a brother and companion in the faith, God’s man in spreading the Message, preaching Christ.
3-5Not that the troubles should come as any surprise to you. You’ve always known that we’re in for this kind of thing. It’s part of our calling. When we were with you, we made it quite clear that there was trouble ahead. And now that it’s happened, you know what it’s like. That’s why I couldn’t quit worrying; I had to know for myself how you were doing in the faith. I didn’t want the Tempter getting to you and tearing down everything we had built up together.
6-8But now that Timothy is back, bringing this terrific report on your faith and love, we feel a lot better. It’s especially gratifying to know that you continue to think well of us, and that you want to see us as much as we want to see you! In the middle of our trouble and hard times here, just knowing how you’re doing keeps us going. Knowing that your faith is alive keeps us alive.
9-10What would be an adequate thanksgiving to offer God for all the joy we experience before him because of you? We do what we can, praying away, night and day, asking for the bonus of seeing your faces again and doing what we can to help when your faith falters.
11-13May God our Father himself and our Master Jesus clear the road to you! And may the Master pour on the love so it fills your lives and splashes over on everyone around you, just as it does from us to you. May you be infused with strength and purity, filled with confidence in the presence of God our Father when our Master Jesus arrives with all his followers.
I then share two more promos–
My friends Angela and Jen have a great podcast called http://www.anomalypodcast.com You will love it.
I also share another promo from Meds and Kell. It’s called Waffle On. http://waffleon.podbean.com
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
I talk in depth about unleashing your creative side in many areas. I even share some cool spontaneous recording with my keyboard and vocals. I then give six tips on being creative.
God created us Creative!
My muse is Jesus.
Six Tips on unleashing creativity:
1. Overcome the fear of failure. (looking stupid, unc0mfortable etc.) What would you do if you weren’t afraid?
2. Gather the tools to enhance your talent and dream. (software, notebooks, instruments, etc.)
3. Practice and don’t be afraid to fail, get back up and keep going. That is the creative process. Experiment!
*It’s the little things we do everyday that makes up the big success.
4. Create a place to create- find a place to experiment and create.
5. Have the guts to share it with others. Your creation needs an audience.
6. Don’t be afraid of the critics.
I then play a cool dramatization or reading from Luke about the parable of the talents. We create the music right on the spot for it.
I used to think that lonliness was meant for me
Like a message in a bottle lost out in the sea
But now that we’re together
my whole world has been made new
I wanna live my life for you
And every star up in the sky
has driven me to testify
that I wanna know you
That’s why God made the moon
For nights like these when we dream of all eternity
As the angels sing the twilight symphony
They sing la-de-de-de-da-da
la-de-de-de-da-da tonight
That’s why God made the moon
There’s a city in the distance
but it seems so far away
It’s a place where lonely hearts await
The Son to light their day
But up here I know it’s silent
There’s no sorrow to be found
just heaven all around
And every star up in the sky
has driven me to testify
that I wanna know you
And we all must feel the same
as we look up to a world that never ends
It’s hard to think that this is all coincidence
Cause in the darkness we need light to find our way
My muse is Jesus Christ.
I then pray for you.
Next week: Youth and Technolgy- where have all the children gone?
